I. Expectations: 1. Do not talk or leave your seat while the teacher is teaching. 2. Work on you math assignment until finished. 3. Bring your materials to class and be on time. 4. Respect others and their property. 5. Score 70% or higher on the tests and quizzes. 70% is needed to pass EL Tests.
II. Grading Scale: A, 90-100%; B, 80-89.5%; C, 70-79.5%; D, 60%-69.5%; F, below 60%; The teacher will use the Easy Grade Pro computer program and regularly update students on their progress and percent of points.
III. Math Assignments: Tests will be worth 100 points. Quizzes are 10 or 20 points. Video reports are 20 points. Class work (including the Warm Up), Homework and Notes are included in the chapter packets worth 100pts.
IV. Geometry Essential Learnings: Geometry is the study of shapes and size. It builds on the skills and concepts of Algebra 1. Geometry is a required course for high school graduation in the LAUSD. The ELs for semester A, EL 1- Basics of Geometry-Inductive and Deductive Reasoning; EL 2- Parallel and Perpendicular Lines; EL 3- Congruent Triangles, CPCTC and Properties of Triangles; EL 4- Polygons and Quadrilaterals. For semester B, EL 5- Right Triangles and Introduction to Trigonometry; EL 6- Areas of Polygons and Circles; EL 7- Surface Areas and Volumes of Solids
V. Final Exams: Departmental final exams will be given at the close of each semester. They will consists of multiple choice questions and be worth 200 points.
VI. Math Books: The student will be issued a Geometry book. If the correct book is not returned, the student will be charged the price of the book.
