Drawing A & B is a year long class taught for beginners and artists alike! It's a lot more than just drawing - carving tikis, stuffing sock creatures, drawing in the dark - there is something for everyone - except brats. There is nothing for brats. So if you're a brat, don't take this class, okay? "You'll draw... you'll draw and LIKE it." - Mrs. M

Assignment
Your Notebooks are DUE!!!
This is in addition to your homework over the break, so get up off that couch!!! :-)
Your Notebook should have:
Inside Cover: Your name at the top, leave the rest blank - we will attach a Table of Contents later.
Page 1: A signed syllabus with the SIGNATURES facing up. Don't glue down the whole page!
Page 2: Your first artwork - a drawing of YOU and 3 things that you like.
Page 3: A blind contour drawing of your hand.
Page 4: Notes on Left Brain/Right Brain titled "Death to Sparky" :-O
Page 5: 2 Questions, answered in class, about Sparky (the Left Brain) and how these strange drawing exercises are "fooling" Sparky - and why.
Page 6 & 7: Your BEST examples, one from each of our drawing exercises - 1) Blind Contour, 2) drawing w/ your Fist, 3) drawing w/ your Other Hand, and 4) holding the pencil Sideways. It doesn't matter what order they're in, as long as they all fit on these 2 pages, they're labeled correctly, and you show an example of each type (4 total) These pages are worth the MOST points so far, so do it RIGHT!!
Page 8: is an extra credit page where you attach a drawing that: a) you're proud of, b) you thought was fun to make, or c) you thought was useless & stupid. For the extra credit, you must explain WHY you attached it (reason a, b or c).
The best example so far treated her notebook like a science experiment - to write down how you feel while you're drawing in this manner, or how you feel about the way your drawings came out - to document what things worked, and what didn't. This is the BEST way for you to learn that you either like drawing, or hate it. :-)
Enjoy your break!!!!
