A man of high enthusiasm for youth development and a vision for delivering on expectations. Coach Evander Williams’ football philosophy provides athletes with the skills necessary to become community representatives and honor the commitment to achieve and aspire for greatness as a student athlete. Coach Williams believes in cultivating a football program that involves collaboration from all invested parties towards building an essential program that is sustainable, fosters youth leadership and athletic development. Williams’ football program is aimed at encouraging positive character development through high performance competition, education, and athletics.   

Evander Williams has also served as Assistant Head Coach for Sylmar Varsity boys Volleyball for the 2020 season. Williams currently works on the Sylmar Charter High School campus as a Career Technical Educator in Health Science Medical Technology, with an emphasis on Sports Medicine and Athletic Training at Sylmar Biotech Health and Engineering Magnet over the past year.

Williams comes from a bi-cultural military family born in San Diego, CA. His lifelong experience around football began in Kingsville, Tx., at the age of 8 years old as a fan of the San Diego Chargers. After moving around the world for most of his childhood. Coach Williams finally landed back in his place of birth, San Diego, CA. In San Diego where he began to compete in multiple competitive organized sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, track & field, swim, and football. 
 
Evander Williams spent 3 years at Chula Vista High where he competed on the Varsity football team as a dual athlete at the position of wide receiver and safety. Williams made 2 CIF Championship and Playoff appearances, receiving several accolades throughout his high school Junior season. As a senior, Evander Williams was elected team captain by his teammates where he received 1st team All-Conference Safety and 1st Team All-Conference Wide Receiver awards. 

With several collegiate offers, Evander Williams decided to volunteer for the United States Armed Forces as a Sonar Technician in the United States Navy (U.S.N.). While stationed in Pascagoula, MISS., Williams served as an active duty operator, maintaining and repairing sonar systems, fire control equipment, counter detection, and warfare. In addition, his duties included underwater surveillance, navigation, search and rescue, and attack operations. Williams also served as Assistant Fitness Coordinator for Military Physical Training semi-annual and annual testing and was awarded National Defense Service Medal & Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Upon completion of military service and receiving an honorable discharge, Coach Williams enrolled at San Diego Mesa Junior College where he also joined the Mesa Olympian Football team for 2 years, receiving accolades such as 1st Team All-Conference Safety, Team Captain, and Olympian Award Recipient. He then went on to receive a collegiate football scholarship to Ottawa University. As a junior, he was awarded 2nd Team All-Conference Safety and his senior year was nominated as Team Captain, received 1st Team Unanimous All Conference Safety, Brave Award Recipient, and was selected to compete in the All-American  East vs. West All-Star game. Post-Senior season at Ottawa University, Williams served as General Assistant (G.A.) Defensive Coach. 
 
Head Coach Evander Williams has extensive experience coaching several youth  community sport programs at various levels and a history of being an active member of the  community. Leading programs such as 100 Citizens Community Fitness in San Fernando as  Assistant Exercise Coordinator and Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator for San Fernando 5k  Walk/Run Relay for Healthy San Fernando. While attending California State University of  Northridge and receiving a B.S. in Kinesiology, Williams also served as an Event Coordinator  Board Member for Kinesiology Majors Club. Coach Williams has also served as an ambassador for Youth Champ Camp, Kansas Kid Fitness, LA84 - Leaders of The New Skool and Martin L. King Committee Member.
 
Coach Evander Williams is newly wed to his loving, supportive, and encouraging wife Jassell. They own 2 pets, Dutch Shepard dog EJ & Long-Haired cat Chanel. 
 
Coach Williams personally enjoys challenging the mind and body to make positive changes through research of various methods, including exercise, nutrition, meditation and personal wellness.
