AP World History Summer Assignment

Hello everyone,

As the summer break winds down, it is important for you finish the summer assignment. It is due the first day of school. Most of you had had great contributions to the blog questions and I see us having a fruitful year. To make sure that everyone gets the summer assignment done, I will not post anymore discussion questions, but along with the summer assignment, you should finish watching the series "First Peoples" as it will give you visuals of the information in the textbook.

Howard Zinns History is a Weapon

Chapter 4 excerpt.
1. What is the title of the Chapter? What does it mean?
2. What is the claim that the author is trying to make?  What evidence does he present to support his claim?
3. How many rebellions and riots does Zinn cite?
4. Who does Zinn clarify were the enemies of the colonists at the end of the French-Indian War?
5. How does Zinn refer to the concept of mercantilism to prove his point on paragraph 6?
7.  was the impact of the French-Indian War on the colonies?  Why would this prove to be important during the revolutionary war?

First Peoples

You can watch episodes of "First Peoples" at http://www.pbs.org/first-peoples/home/ and it should recap many of the concepts that you are reading about in the textbook. Watch two episodes per week and leave feedback in the Edmodo group page connecting episodes content to textbook concepts
