For the Finals, Fall 2017

Wow, just wow!!!! I hope everyone is well.  I am thinking of you all.  Principal Lee has asked us to post assignments for the next two days.  I know all my students know what is due by Friday---you all put it in your notebook calendars like I instructed, right? Right?

But just as a reminder for all classes:

Monday:
Please note pages 73 and sample on page 78.

Periods 1-4 you are writing a four paragraph paper.
Period 5 you are writing the classic five paragraph paper.

Tuesday:
Continue Shaping the Essay. It was a soft deadline as you were going to need it to hand write the essay. I was going to check your progress to make sure you were on task and on time.

Wednesday:  Hand write out your essay.  I want this handwritten copy as proof that you wrote.  The final paper will not be graded without this one.

Thursday: Continue writing and typing.  Run the essay through a grammar/spell check. There is no reason not to do so. There are many on the web, i.e. www.grammarly.com or www.grammarcheck.net

Period 5 you are citing works according to MLA style. Remember the lesson from the librarian?  She liked Citefast.  Here is the link to get to it: http://www.sylmarhs.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=48296&type=d&pREC_ID=1108288

Friday: Paper due. Turn in online by 11:59 p.m. here:  https://www.dropbox.com/request/1R279UPdZ7VEmoVKo8uA

****PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE:*******
Do not forget to type your full name and period in the right hand corner of your paper.

12 or 14 point Times New Roman, or anything with Times in the name.  No fancy fonts!!!!

Reminders:
Keep working on your Silent Sustained Reading...one paper per book. Need the forms?  Look under Silent Sustained Reading in the links.
Enter your reading logs online. You know how to do so.
Make your notebooks spectacular. All notes and journals completed.
Make sure you re-took your quizzes for the highest grade possible.
